Texas hospital generates big data insights from RFID tags for staff, patients | MedCity →

RFID and other 'indoor GPS' technologies have a lot of potential uses in hospitals. A great example given in this piece--infection control:

If a patient was discovered to have tuberculosis, staff would need to find who had been exposed so they could get screened for TB...By analyzing RFID tag data, mission control was able to send targeted emails and addressed the problem faster.
