Just as we expect core curricula to include math, basic science, literature, composition, history, and philosophy, so too should we now expect it to include computer science. Technology is changing our world and the next generation of leaders needs an understanding of tech beyond how to email and use Facebook. This is evident even in medicine where basic biomedical science increasingly requires programming knowledge and clinical medicine needs knowledgable leaders to usher in the next generation of digital tools for doctors.
